Japan – Tokyo’N’Surroundings

So, in 2008 one of my desires has been fulfilled at last: I went to the country of Anime industry and home robotics ( Gundam!!;) ) – Japan (日本). I had very high hopes for this trip, but… reality is brutal, especially when you are sightseeing in an organized group. It’s not that this trip was bad or anything – I just wanted more:) and even more:) and my interests are rather specific (e.g. Akihabara – my little Heaven on Earth, given enough money, time and luggage space….).
Well whatever. As always, I made quite a lot of pictures, and reducing their number was quite a demanding chore. Nonetheless, the result is still over 350 photos, so I decided to split them in 2 pages (like with China). We spent one week around Tokyo, and one week travelling through Hiroshima, Nagasaki and Kyoto – so the division was obvious:)
Here you will find photos from Tokyo and surroundings – Nikko, Kamakura and Mt Fuji National Park. Unfortunatelly, I don’t have views of Mt Fuji itself – fog was just too dense… But still, there are photos from Akihabara and Harajuku, mausoleum of Tokugawa Ieyasu, Kotokuin and “generic” japanese metropolitan/park/temple areas;) Just what a 外人 can expect to see during an organized trip…
Enjoy!
